Main Common Room: Our main hangout zone is at the heart of the college! Challenge your friends toa  fame of pool, air hackey, table tennis or darts. It's not just for residents – guests are welcome too!

TV Room: Dive into entertainment paradise with a huge movie projector and screen hooked up to SKY, boasting over 50 channels. Movie nights and sports events just got an upgrade!

The 'Dungeon': It's a cozy nook right off the dining room. Think TV, vending machines, and a coffee machine that's there for you 24/7. Whether you're craving a midnight snack or a caffeine fix, there's something for you here.

Get your fitness on — Gym and more!

Feeling the need to break a sweat or shoot some hoops? We've got you covered with our awesome facilities:

The Gym: Our exercise room is right across the grassy quad, and it's loaded with fitness gear. Whether you're into hitting the machines or prefer some aerobic action, you're in the right place.

Tennis Court: Right by the residents' car park, there’s a tennis court and a basketball hoop available for Salmond and Knox College residents. Grab your buddies, hit the court, and show off your skills. Ask at the office to borrow tennis rackets and balls.

Other facilities and fun at Salmond College

At Salmond College, we've got a bunch of awesome facilities waiting for you to dive into:

The Waddell Chapel is the centrepiece of the spiritual life of Salmond College. The special Christian character of the College is expressed through the Chapel, and groups are welcome to use the space. Services run in the Chapel at times during the year. You can join in on services, have a quiet moment for contemplation, jam with your musical instruments, or even host a discussion group. At times, groups from the wider North Dunedin community use the Chapel.

Wi-Fi: Stay plugged in with wireless internet available throughout the college. There are also some PCs available to use in the Library.

Study spaces and Library: We're all about that academic hustle. Three tutorial rooms and group workspaces are open to all for study. The library, with a small collection of fiction and non-fiction gems, is also a great spot to hit the books.

Embrace the Great Outdoors: The Salmond College grounds run from Lindsay Creek to Knox College. A volleyball net is often put up on the front lawn in suitable weather, and residents are encouraged to use the space for sports and recreation.

Make Some Music: Got a musical streak in you? We've got a piano in the Dining Room just waiting for you to tickle the ivories. And for those who fancy a grander experience, there's a baby grand piano in the Waddell Chapel. Other musical instruments should be used primarily in the music room or Chapel.

Laundry Day Made Easy: No need to haul your laundry away. We've got washing machines and dryers ready for action in the laundry area, at the end of the ground floor. If you're in the Library Wing or Macalister Wing, don't worry, we've got a separate laundry setup for you.
